I have 3 Red Bellied Piranha Fish, this Live cam updates every 30 seconds with a new picture. The light in the tank is on between 9:30am - 10:30pm, however when daylight extends past this time the tank will be clear enough to view the fish. There are many varieties of Piranha fish, including vegetarian fish, which use teeth to crack nuts. These are the Red Bellied Piranha fish which are considered the most deadly and 'nasty', and are the ones which have stared in films such as 'Piranha'.
These fish are tropical, which means the live in warm fresh water, and they feed on Meat, or Fish or Worms. They are known as Red Bellied because of the bright red or orange underside. They hunt in packs, but would normally attack larger but injured animals.
